Homes: Sault Ste. Marie Area neighbourhoods: South of Trunk Rd
[ Other Neighbourhoods | East Neighbourhoods Map ] This part of Sault Ste Marie lies south of Trunk Rd and the St Marie River, east of downtown (Church St). This includes the neighbourhoods of Meadow Park, Eastside, and Grandview Gardens. This part of Sault Ste Marie is relatively new, with most homes built after the 60s and 70s. If offers a range of affordable mid-priced homes as well as some higher priced homes along the Saint Mary's River east of the hospital. Schools This area has 8 public schools and 5 Catholic schools, and is home to two high schools, White Pines in the eat and Sir James Dunn C. & V.S. right beside Algoma College, . and Catholic students attend Mt St Joseph College just north of the Armoury. The area's closest library is in Churchill Plaza. 
Shopping Churchill Plaza and the larger Wellington Square Mall are in the area. Downtown, and the big box strip of stores along Great Northern Rd, are about a kilometre away. 
Recreation This area neighbours the beautiful St Mary's River and is home to Queen Elizabeth Park, with its recreational facilities, Bellevue Park (with its zoo) & Topsail Island as well as the Bellevue Marina. Just west of Church St is Sault Ste Marie' historic downtown. The community is also home to the Sault Ste Marie Golf and Country Club. The Rankin Arena is in the eastern part of the community.
