Algoma Conservatory of MusicConcert Info (705) 253-4373 Connected with Algoma University, this facility has grown to be the regions centre for music education. It accommodates touring as well as local artist, including 4 choirs and 3 youth orchestras. Intructional class are provided on most instruments and vocals. Algoma International Films Experience Canadian and International films normally unavailable to the public in a commercial cinema. They play the newest movies from the Northern Film Circuit, usually twice a month around 7:00pm at one of the theatres in Station Mall Cinema. The film seasom runs from September to May. Community Theatre and Special Concerts Located in Station Mall Box office (705) 945-7299 Fax (705) 945-7346 The Kiwanis Community Theatre Centre Box Office sells tickets for most of the community theatre productions happening throughout the city. Organizations envolved include the Algoma Conservatory of Music, the Sault Opera Society, the Barbershoppers, the Musical Commedy Guild, Theatre Algoma, Sault Youth Theatre and local dance groups. There is also The Kiwanis Community Theatre Centre bringing in top act professionals. Fireball Coffee n' Arts House Located at 746 Queen St. E (705) 949-8756 This unique venue offers a smoke and alcohol free atmosphere, with live performances from alternative, folk, jazz, blues and pop musicians. Provided too, are monthly exhibits of local art and literature(speak out) night. No meals are served so your encouraged to bring your own lunch and follow it up with one of Fireball's Italian or specialty coffees, pure fruit juice, slushies, homemade biscotti, cookies or cake. The Fireball is open Monday to Saturday, noon to 5:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.. The Great Northern Opry and Country Music Hall of Fame Ramada Inn (705) 254-1650 "The Country Club" room with its Hall of Fame is open daily. The Great Northern Opry hosts shows and dances weekly, featuring Northern Ontario country talent. This venue also hosts the annual Northern Ontario Country music Awards. Le Centre Francophone Located at 169 Spring St. (705) 946-3632 For the French population of the region. A number of services and new activities for years to come. Sault Ste Marie Memorial Gardens 269 Queen St E P6A 1Y9 705-759-5251 fax: 759-6990 This arena has 4100 seats (366 permanent) and has a number of seating configurations: concere 3929, ice event 3929, basketball 3929, boxing 3929. There is a 17,000 sq ft floor on a 200' x 85' skating rink witha 52' ceiling, a 40'x85' portable stage, 600A/400A electrical and an 8'x9' freight door. There are three meeting rooms with 15-120 capacity and onsite parking for 260 vehicles.
